Educational Programs
Throughout the year, workshops are held
for the public on such subjects as depression, autism, child abuse,
stress management, drug and alcohol abuse, and other needed areas
related to the vast field of mental health. These educational
workshops often provide the opportunity for participants to earn
continuing education units for their respective field as required by
their licensing agencies. To date, over 1,500 people have participated
in our workshops, representing many different states and 67 counties
in Mississippi
Operation Reindeer
Operation Reindeer is an annual project
which provides holiday gifts to patients at East Mississippi State
Hospital who have no friends or relatives to remember them during the
Holiday Season. Without Operation Reindeer, they would be completely
forgotten. Through the generosity of our contributors, we are able to
make this special time of year a truly merry one for those less
fortunate
Lauderdale Group Home
The Mental Health Association in
Lauderdale County provides leadership participation in the Lauderdale
County Group Home. This home provides for formerly institutionalized
individuals who are able to live, with supervision, outside the
hospital setting.
The Friendship Center

community service organization, sponsored by East Mississippi State
Hospital and the Mental Health Association in Lauderdale County. The

former mental health consumers as a referral, social, education,
recreational, and service delivery agency.
